For ages 0-18 months, the ratio is 1:5; for 18 months to 3 years, it's 1:8; and for ages 4-5, it's 1:10.
Children unable to participate in group activities due to poor health or requiring extra care will be temporarily excluded to ensure the well-being and safety of others. This includes symptoms like fever, diarrhea, vomiting, rashes, or contagious illnesses. The policy aims to minimize infection risks and benefits all children, their families, and the staff.
A child can return when symptoms have ceased, 24 hours after symptoms of gastroenteritis (diarrhea and vomiting) have ended, 24 hours fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medicine, and if they're able to engage in regular daycare activities, including outdoor play.
Handwashing: Children are taught proper techniques and the importance of handwashing to prevent germ spread, using timers or songs to ensure thoroughness. Hands are washed after coughing, sneezing, before meals, after toilet use, returning from outdoors, and after messy activities.
Respiratory Hygiene: Activities emphasize coughing and sneezing into elbows when tissues aren't available, promoting this practice among peers and families.
Toy Cleaning: Preference is given to dishwasher-safe plastic toys, with special attention to those that children might put in their mouths. Toys are cleaned regularly following specific guidelines.
Our menus, aligned with Canadian food and nutrition guidelines, are prepared on-site with fresh ingredients. We accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies. For detailed menus, please download them from our website.
